Dunk Island Resort has 146 rooms available.  There are four accommodations available within those rooms.  All rooms have view of either the beach or tropical gardens.  All have private bathrooms and either a balcony or patio.

The Bay-view Suites allow guests to view Brammo Bay and have direct access to the beach.  They are grouped into four units and are spacious with room capacity for 3 guests.  Each also has a large L-shaped balcony.  These suites feature fans, telephone, satellite television, refrigerator, hair dryer, radion, CD player, mini bar, and many other extras.

The Beachfront Unit gives guests access to the beach by going through the tropical garden.  Many rooms also have a view of Brammo Bay.  Rooms have either a balcony or patio and lead to the gardens and beach.  The rooms are separated into living and sleeping areas and can comfortably hold four guests.  They have many of the other features of the Bay-view Suites.

The Garden Cabanas are grouped in fours and are a quick walk away from the main complex of the resort.  Each room has a small outdoor area and offers room for four guests.

The Banfield Unit is located in the tropical gardens and are also a short distance away from the main complex.  Room capacity for these rooms is three guests.

• Gourmet Barbeque – They offer traditional Australian cuisine.
• EJ’s On the Deck – Enjoy drinks and casual snacking such as sandwiches, salads, ice cream, and coffee near the main pool.
• The Plantation Bar and Lounge– Guests can enjoy evening entertainment and a few drinks while relaxing.
• The Cascade Pool Bar – Guests can purchase drinks and small snacks in the afternoons, however, this is only open weather-permitting.

Guests are sure to stay busy participating in the many activities available on Dunk Island.  Guests can choose from sailing, jet ski tours, all day reef trips, and game fishing.  They also offer archery, horse riding, and treatments at the Spa of Peace and Plenty.  In addition, there are sunset sailing trips for those on a romantic getaway.

Many activities are included in a guest’s resort package.  These include tennis, swimming, a gym and fitness classes, volleyball, snorkeling lessons, archery, a track, and a children’s playground.  Other options may be available and additional information can be obtained from the resort staff.

Charges typically apply for other activities, but they are still quite worth the expense.  Guests can play golf, go on fishing charters, take a jet ski island tour or a kayak tour, or skydive, parasail, or water ski.  There are occasional sunset wine and cheese trip and other daily trips.  Those who want a little alone time might also enjoy the private beach drop off and pick up.

Kids will enjoy the Kids Club which generally services children aged 3 to 12.  They will participate in activities such as treasure hunts, discovery walks, and crafts during the day.  They also have evening events such as parties, movies, and games.

Dunk Island Resort offers a number of amenities.  From room service to resort shops and a boutique, guests will feel at home and well cared for.  There is a Kid’s Club to keep the little ones occupied, a guest laundry to keep them clean, and the Spa of Peace and Plenty to take care of parents and anyone else in need of some relaxation and pampering.  On site there are also pools, a golf course, gym, hairdresser, and horse riding.

For those interested in hosting an event or conference, Dunk Island offers a number of services.  Facilities include a resident coordinator to help handle the needs of the client, lectern, whiteboard, projectors, PA system, copying and fax services, and secretarial services if needed.  The conference room can hold up to 105 individuals.

Dunk Island boasts the largest island golf course in Australia.  They have a fairly new 18-hole course.  The course was designed by Scott Dowdle, operator of Queensland’s top international championship course.  Golf clubs are available for rental due to luggage restrictions on aircraft.
