Hayman Island is found in the Whitsunday Islands of Australia, near the Great Barrier Reef. With its tropical beauty and elegant resort features, guests can experience a vacation like none other.

Hayman Island is the northernmost island in the Whitsunday Island area. With a crescent-shaped, white bay on the south-western side, everything man-made blends together with the island’s natural beauty. The island is home to a number of ponds and waterfalls, and guests can walk through luxurious gardens and walkways to view the local scenery.

Besides the beachfront area, Hayman Island includes a coral reef that is viewable at low tide. Guests can see coral formations as well as a variety of marine life. Hayman also boasts a variety of trees such as Poplar Gum, Port Jackson Fig, Moreton Bay Ash, Whitsunday Kurrajong, Grass Trees, Mackay Cedar, and others.

There are also a number of birds who call Hayman Island home. Guests may see White Cockatoos, Painted Lorikeets, Stone Curlew, Kingfisher, and Kookaburras. There are also swans and ducks who live in the lagoons.

Hayman Island Resort offers 245 rooms in a variety of rooms, suites, and penthouses. They are separated into Pool, Lagoon, Palm, and Beach wings. Each includes either a private patio or balcony.

The Pool Wing – This wing includes Superior and Deluxe rooms as well as suites. The view is of the Hayman Pool and the island’s tropical gardens. Some areas will also show the Coral Sea and Hook Island.

The Lagoon Wing – This wing features Superior and Deluxe rooms, suites, and 11 penthouses. Guests can enjoy a breathtaking view of the lagoon, gardens, and pool. The Penthouses also offer a view of the Coral Sea and Hook Island.

The Palm Wing – Palm Superior rooms are available in this wing and provide great access to all resort facilities.

The Beach Wing – This wing offers beach front rooms and retreat rooms located in the tropical gardens. This wing is perfect for those wishing to experience a quieter, calmer accommodation.

The Marine Center – They operate coral reef tours, fishing tours, and sea plane/helicopter tours. They also offer a Diving Center. These items are available in addition to any resort offerings.

Blue Pearl Bay – Guests can take a one hour walk or a dinghy trip to Blue Pearl Bay. There they can participate in snorkeling. The resort office can provide guests with a detailed brochure.

There are a number of scenic tours available on South Stradbroke Island. These include bushwalks, boat tours, and sea plan tours. Guests can spend hours viewing the local scenery and wildlife.

In addition, there is a wildlife tour that leaves from the resort bar area most evenings. This tour allows guests to walk through the tropical gardens to the Eastern beach. Guests are able to see various Australian animals that are native to this area such as frogmouth owls, possums, wallabies, and bandicoots. The tour is generally an hour or two in length and is led by a guide who is knowledgeable about this wildlife.

Hayman Island offers many amenities to make a guests’ stay as perfect as possible. 24 hour reception services offer around the clock care and babysitting services allow parents to enjoy some alone time. A Kidz Club is available daily providing a games, activities, and a playground.

Guests can use the boutique, golf and driving range, fitness centre, hairdresser and library. They also offer a wedding chapel with honeymoon packages, coffee shop, and cocktail bar. There is also a doctor on call, should a guest need services.

Additionally, Hayman Island is a great place for meetings and conventions. They offer a complimentary business center, conference facilities, and a multilingual staff. Hayman has facilities for small meetings of 10 members as well as large conferences of up to 500 participants.

Most major Australian cities have service to the airports at Hamilton Island and Proserpine. From Hamilton Island, guests can board the MV Sun Eagle transfer and arrive on Hayman Island in about an hour. A short half-hour coach or limo ride from Proserpine takes guests to Shute Harbour and from there, guests will take a one hour launch transfer.

Guests who wish to enjoy a more private traveling option can rent a seaplane or helicopter transfer.
