South Stradbroke Island Resort is located deep in Australia’s tropical gardens. They offer accommodations in 40 natural pine timber bungalows. All of them are extremely comfortable and offer guests a relaxing end to their day.

Each bungalow has a view of a different part of the garden. Bungalows are located to a pool and spa reserved for guests only, the beaches, restaurants, and other facilities. However, guests will feel an immense sense of privacy in these lodgings.

Rooms are available in single, double, twin, and family options. Each room comes equipped with a number of amenities to make a guests’ stay pleasant. Private bathrooms, a refrigerator, lounge seating, patio, and daily servicing are just a few of the things that South Stradbroke offers those who choose to stay with them.

The Resort Restaurant – The Restaurant is open for breakfast and dinner. Guests can enjoy a continental breakfast or a full cooked breakfast. For dinner, they offer a 3 course meal with a variety of options per course. Guests who do not purchase a package with meals included should make reservations.

The Resort Bistro – The Bistro is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They offer a variety of options including an island breakfast and meals such as burgers, steaks, seafood, and salads.

There are a number of scenic tours available on South Stradbroke Island. These include bushwalks, boat tours, and sea plan tours. Guests can spend hours viewing the local scenery and wildlife.

In addition, there is a wildlife tour that leaves from the resort bar area most evenings. This tour allows guests to walk through the tropical gardens to the Eastern beach. Guests are able to see various Australian animals that are native to this area such as frogmouth owls, possums, wallabies, and bandicoots. The tour is generally an hour or two in length and is led by a guide who is knowledgeable about this wildlife.

South Stradbroke Island offers a variety of activities within easy reach. Many are offered by the resort, and still others are available through special companies. Guests can enjoy fast paced, exciting activities as well as more relaxing activities.

Activities coordinated by the resort include bush walking, sand tobogganing, bush golf, wallaby feeding, scavenger hunts, and other recreational activities such as golf, tennis, volleyball, and cricket. Many guests especially enjoy the unique adventure of sand tobogganing. Using a toboggan as a sled, guest will sail down the sandy slopes.

Water sports included in a resort package include kayaking, canoe trips, catamarans, and paddle boats. Guests can also choose to purchase additional water sports packages from local dealers. These include tube or jet ski rides, parasailing, fishing tours, and speedboat and sea plane tours.

Other guests who are more interested in relaxation rather than experiencing the outdoors will enjoy a fine massage by Bliss on the Beach. Their massage therapy allows a chance to rejuvenate the mind, body, and soul. They offer a classic Swedish massage as well as remedial massages to ease aching muscles and tension. Many guests enjoy a remedial massage after a long day of activities!

Guests of South Stradboke Island Resort can enjoy a private pool and spa as well as a wide range of other amenities. Many resort packages include a number of activities such as walking tours and water sports. There are a number of sporting facilities such as volleyball and tennis courts.

South Stradbroke Island can be reached with a 25 minute ferry ride from Runaway Bay. The ferry runs twice a day and three times on Friday and Saturday. Guests will leave from Runaway Bay Marina, 247 Bayview St., Runaway Bay, Gate C.

Guests can also choose to hire a boat or water taxi from Mariner’s Cove or Couran Cove.
